Relational and integrative psychotherapy training
This training is based on Richard Erskine’s model of relationally-focused and developmentally-based Integrative Psychotherapy. While we associate the term ‘Integrative Psychotherapy’ with an integration of theory, Erskine’s approach also refers to the process of integrating the different parts of the self.
Through lectures, case vignettes, clinical discussions and experiential exercises, this training will focus on the significance of an involved and contactful therapeutic relationship.
This training will be useful to psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists and psychotherapy/counselling trainees in their last year of training, who want to further their understanding and refine their therapeutic skills in providing relational psychotherapy for their clients.
In this training participants will learn:
- The in-depth relational methods of psychotherapy that integrate the client’s affect, cognition, physiology and behaviour
- The importance of a sustained phenomenological inquiry and the effective use of developmental inquiry
- How to respond to a client’s relational needs
- To work with client’s interruptions to internal contact with their feelings, thoughts and body sensations
This engaging and relational therapeutic training will meet five times a year for 2 days, 15 hours each time.
75-hour CPD certificate
