Prejudice in counselling and psychotherapy
This CPD event will explore how our personal biases can be triggered in the therapy room and what we can do when we become aware of this happening. With gender and race rightly taking up so much of the social discourse, I want to take the opportunity to put class on the agenda for our main discussion.
Order of the day
- considering our biases and prejudices
- group exercise
- rea/coffee break (20mins)
- putting class on the agenda: Individual exercise - why class matters
- lunch (60mins)
- implications for practice
- reflecting team exercise
- final reflections
The event will last for four hours excluding break and lunch. No food or drink will be provided, but there is a local co-op and coffee house a five-minute walk away.
All attendees will receive a certificate at the end of the event. Please click here to order tickets.
