Would you like your kids to be more co-operative?

Would you like to feel calmer and more in control?

Would you like the atmosphere in your home to be generally more positive?

How can you find out the answers?

If you are interested then join the next Parenting More Mindfully group sessions which will be starting in Hampton at 8.15pm on Tuesday 12 January. Each session will be 90 minutes and sessions will run for eight weeks.

What is it about?

The Parenting More Mindfully group sessions aim to raise awareness of the importance of self-care and offer practical tools for 'healthy' parenting of children aged between three and 12 years. It is about understanding that our children's well-being affects our own, and vice-versa. It is about learning how to anticipate setbacks and avoid winning or losing situations with our children. It’s about recognising that our commitment to them has got to be heartfelt, especially in difficult times when they need our support most.

What will you gain?

  • Time to evaluate your parenting. What are areas that are working well? Where is there room for improvement? What gets you frustrated or angry or anxious too often?
  • Access to professional, practical solutions to your personal current parenting challenges. 'What can I do differently to get better results? How can I be more effective in my approach and make all of us happier on a more consistent basis?’
  • Last but not least, mums/dads as a collective have far more potential to be supportive and to come up with a solution than any parent on their own! It can be highly interesting, inspirational, and reassuring to hear and share what other parents experience and what techniques they use to manage their children. The groups are usually highly energising and very positive in all sorts of ways!

Remember, if you keep doing what you've always done, you keep on getting the same results… so maybe it's time to change?

Feedback from the past courses:

Just wanted to say I loved the parenting course and really got lots out of it.

As we met once a week it really helped me keep focused on the goals we set and tried to achieve. I think just the fact that we are open to helping ourselves improve to be better parents is great in itself. (A.C. mother of one, Hampton)

I loved then fact that there was a forum to talk, I had an outlet for so many of my quietly nagging frustrations with my children - it was great to hear others share their experiences too. It put it all into perspective. Thanks so much, Julia. (T.K. mother of two, Hampton)

I think it's reminded me these little people are not on our time schedule and it really got me to think about things from my children's perspective, which has made a big difference in our family. (L.S. mother of three, Teddington)

Thanks so much Julia. There is still massive room for improvement but I feel much better equipped as a parent, calmer about how to react to some things. When I find the time, I go back through the notes to get me back on track. Especially on getting my daughter to do things for herself. (H.B. mother of two, Richmond)
