Narcissists and their children: made not born
Narcissistic – a word which is often used as an insult.
How shall we understand narcissistic personalities in a way that will help us to think about what they might need from us?
How shall we work with those clients whose narcissistic parents have taught them that they are born to please?
This workshop will explore the making of a narcissist, including relevant theory, the relevance of attachment, as well as looking at the therapist’s narcissism.
This theoretical base will be used to discuss the range of ways that narcissism presents itself and enable us to explore strategies to enable therapists to work with narcissists and with the children of narcissists.
