The group takes place on the first Tuesday evening of each month via Zoom at 6-7.30 pm with a maximum of 8 members in attendance.

This group is for you if:

  • You struggle with feelings of not being good enough, perfectionism, anxiety, low self-esteem, burnout and/or overachieving.
  • You want to break the cycle of generational trauma and heal from toxic or dysfunctional family dynamics.
  • You grew up with an emotionally immature, absent, cold + critical, or overinvolved parent.
  • You have a tendency to people please or find it hard to express your needs and communicate your feelings with others.
  • You can feel anxious and insecure in relationships and want increased emotional intimacy and availability from yourself and others.
  • You want to increase your self-awareness and understanding of how others experience you.
  • You want to learn how to show authenticity and break relational patterns that hold you back from being yourself.
  • You would like a safe space to share your feelings with like-minded others who get it and support you.

What are the benefits of attending online group therapy?

1. Group therapy increases a sense of belonging by reducing shame and isolation knowing that others have similar feelings or experiences to you.

2. Learn how to open up and share feelings, and appropriately support others with theirs using healthy boundaries.

3. Understand how family dynamics play out in your current relationships through what happens in the group process. The group gives the opportunity to respond to emotional triggers differently by working through any transferences and to receive reparative experiences that are different to your early childhood relationships.

4. Practice taking up space, asking for needs to be met and how to share it with others.

5. Attend from the convenience and comfort of your own home.

6. Reduced cost and time commitment than attending individual therapy or can complement 1:1 work (so if you have another therapist that's okay too).

Details:

Groups are held online via Zoom, which can be used on most devices. You will therefore need a stable internet connection (strong enough to watch Netflix) and access to a quiet, private space to maintain confidentiality.

It is important that you are able to commit to attending each month. Membership to the group is ongoing, so you can continue to attend for as long as you need.  When someone decides it’s time to leave, their spot may be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

Next steps:

New clients are invited to arrange a FREE non-obligation 20-minute Zoom call to assess your needs and suitability for the group prior to starting. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and for us both to get a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you. Email me at hello@harrietgleeson.co.uk to get started.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
