Mindfulness based stress reduction
This eight week course runs on a Monday evening from 7pm to 9pm. It is for anyone interested in mindfulness, however the course has been designed for those suffering with anxiety and stress. Each meeting will include meditations, teachings and group work. The classes are small as this helps learning and allows for flexibility within the teaching.
Mindfulness is particularly helpful for those who get lost in thought or find themselves making decisions impulsively.
This is a secular course, suitable for all faiths and belief systems.
There is also a Silent Retreat day on May 11th which offers a deeper consolidation of the experiences offered in meditations.
The eight week MBSR is also recognised as a starting point for healthcare professionals wishing to learn about mindfulness in order to incorporate it into their work.
Emma Dunn is a counsellor and psychotherapist. Emma is a participant in the Teacher Training Pathway for Mindfulness teachers, recognised by the Mindfulness Network.
