A training workshop led by Dr Maggie Turp
Saturday 14th May 2016
10am - 4pm
London Therapy Foundation
40 Lambert Avenue, Richmond TW9 4QR
In this workshop, we will consider trauma and how it affects the individual. What are normal responses to trauma? What helps and hinders the healing of trauma? What are the therapeutic options? These matters will be discussed with reference to the literature on trauma, clinical material and personal reflections.
The day will include:
- Post-traumatic stress disorder and post-traumatic growth.
- Trauma and brain physiology – findings from neuroscience.
- Activation of earlier trauma by later trauma.
- Intergenerational transmission of trauma.
