Introduction to EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
Wirral CPD - Therapeutic Alliance Group
TAG provides local, low-cost CPD events with guest speakers and space for networking and peer support.
The next event will take place on Thursday 4th April 2019 - 'Introduction to EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing'
Guest speaker – Cheryl Overington; HCPC and BPS Registered Chartered Psychologist and BACP Senior Accredited Counselling Supervisor.
Cheryl Overington works in private practice and is the Manager of HHCC, a private therapy centre on the Wirral. Cheryl is also an EMDR therapist and uses EMDR with approximately 30% of all her clients. She has found EMDR to be an invaluable addition to her clinical skills.
EMDR and Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT) are the only two NICE-approved psychological treatments for the treatment of PTSD.
This CPD is designed for you to understand the basics:
- How can it be used in a therapeutic session?
- How does it work?
- How can I be trained it?
The evening will also provide you with a relaxed opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.
The venue for this event is the Quaker Meeting House, North Drive, Heswall, Wirral,
CH60 0BD. No parking is available on site, but ample, free on-road parking is available close to the venue. I would ask you not to park in North Drive at the side of the meeting house due to parking difficulties previously perceived by residents.
The evening starts at 6.30pm with refreshments and networking. The guest speaker slot is from 7pm to 9.30pm with a 15 minute comfort break. The cost is £35; an early bird rate of £30 will apply to bookings fully paid for by Monday 25th March 2019. Please contact me by email to book your place and I will send you details of how to make your payment.
