Online Introduction to Counselling | delivered over Zoom

This is not just for those looking to pursue a career in counselling. Learning counselling skills is beneficial to any area of life whether for personal development or as a vocation. The introduction to counselling course is open to anyone and the skills acquired throughout the course are transferable.

Our four-week (12 hourr) course provides a good grounding in key topics in counselling, including:

  • its cultural and historical origins
  • different theoretical orientations
  • the vital role of the counselling relationship

You will receive the tools to understand and effectively listen to those around us. These useful competencies of active listening are not just for anyone wanting to become a counsellor, but for managers, team workers as well as parents and carers who require powerful yet underestimated communication tools when being responsible for others.

While the course is primarily theoretical, it also develops some awareness of the basic skills in counselling practice and will involve some roleplay exercises in Zoom break out rooms. It is therefore important for all attendees to join the sessions via video.
