Introduction to CBT - online course
This course is ideal for counsellors who want to incorporate cognitive behavioural techniques into their work or for those who simply want more understanding of what CBT is all about. Areas covered include:
- What is CBT and how does it differ from other approaches?
- Why use CBT?
- Case conceptualisation.
- Use of assessment tools, questionnaires, diaries and homework.
- Cognitive errors.
- Behavioural experiments.
- CBT for low self esteem.
- CBT for anxiety and panic.
- CBT for depression.
The course is delivered in six parts, students are required to submit assignments for each section before the next section is dispatched to them. Assignments are individually marked and feedback is given. A certificate will be awarded on successful completion.

Liz Hann has trained in person centred counselling and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and now combines the best parts of these two approaches in her work with clients. She lectures in CBT skills at the Interpsyche counselling diploma course in Dartford, Kent, and is also a supervisor and trainer.
