How to heal a human - New perspectives for working with trauma
How to heal a human – New perspectives for working with the impact of trauma
Working with the impact of trauma on the body, mind and soul is deep work and many therapists are looking for ways to develop and reinvigorate both their practice and themselves. Trauma-informed practice can get lost along the way with therapists looking for ways to work both safely and dynamically with extreme emotions. Many therapists understand that there are basic needs for safety and stabilisation, but then what? This training will take your knowledge to a place of feeling confident in working with people who have been traumatised.
This training will cover theory relating to working with phenomena relating to trauma and dissociation from a non-pathologising perspective and through a decolonising lens, with the training being focused on the development of your practice.
Together we will explore new ways of working with difficult presentations using a range of approaches including somatic experiencing, narrative therapy and creative methods. Through a combination of presentations, group work, specialist case supervision and live demonstrations it is hoped that you will feel re-inspired in this work.
