Grief, loss and bereavement workshop
About the trainer
Jet is a senior accredited member of NCPS and accredited BACP member, with over 15 years of experience and offers supervision and training. She is trained in various types of therapy, including Gestalt, EMDR, NLP & Clinical Hypnotherapy. She specialises in loss, grief, and trauma.
As an experienced trainer, Jet is passionate about inspiring and developing others’ knowledge. She has delivered accredited counselling courses, CPD for counsellors and trainees, safeguarding training, working with bereavement in prison, and First Aid for Mental Health. Jet has also written training on Mental Health for Cruse Bereavement Support for Helpline volunteers which is delivered nationally. She is the lead trainer for the charity Athletic Minds.
Additionally, Jet leads the Psychotherapy and Counselling team at her local adult hospice, working therapeutically with palliative patients and families, and working with families following bereavement. Jet works at her local Children’s Hospice, working with families who have experienced a complicated birth or the loss of their child. She is also a therapist for Project Youth Cancer, working with teenagers and young adults living with cancer.
Furthermore, Jet is also a therapist and trainer for a Retreats company, which offers mental wellness retreats. She works therapeutically with guests and delivers Psycho-Educational training. Jet has worked on retreats in England, Wales, Tenerife, and Thailand.
About this event
Loss and Grief are a part of life and impacts us as counsellors. The workshop is designed to give you the skills, knowledge and confidence to support bereaved clients through what is often described as 'the worst thing I have ever experienced'.
Learning objectives:
- You will learn the impact of grief on both adults and children.
- You will understand useful models and theories around grief.
- You will be able to recognise normal grief and complex grief.
- You will identify our own grief responses and the best way to support clients.
- You will learn skills to support you to work with clients who are grieving.
