This workshop is a one-day intensive, suitable for third and fourth year psychotherapy and counselling students, graduates and practitioners.

If you are wanting to get your practice off the ground but are struggling with knowing where to start or in the grip of self-doubt this workshop will help you navigate some of the blocks. Similarly, if you are already up and running but want an update and refresh this would be a great opportunity.

The first part of the workshop will explore the essential foundations for doing the work so that you will have a clearer understanding of yourself, your strengths and your offering as a therapist. The second part will look at some of the practicalities such as - fees, contracts, room rent, self-employment, costs, website, social media and online profiles. Much of the day will provide guides and pointers for you to explore in your own time and then share with peers.

The workshop is designed to be continued beyond the one day. Participants will be encouraged to work together, establish peer groups and network connection through which to exchange ideas and offer ongoing support.

Having spent many years, through trial and error, setting up my practice (still a work in progress), I wanted to offer this workshop with a view to saving you time and effort. The aim is to help you feel both inspired and confident about your next steps.

Having worked in the design industry for over 20 years I changed my career. As a UKCP and BACP registered therapist I have a masters degree in psychotherapy and now have a private practice in central London where I see both individuals and couples.
