Freud Museum, learning session & networking CPD event
Join a group of therapists, both in training and qualified, on this exclusive group experience at the Sigmund Freud Museum in London. Including a 60-minute learning session which will be an exploration of The Curious Case of Little Hans.
Your host, Tom, will greet you at the entrance for an informal introduction, followed by entering the world-famous museum that was once the home of Sigmund, Anna Freud and their wider family.
Once inside, we will be met by a facilitator who will provide a welcome and introduction followed by some time for you to explore the museum independently. We will then reconvene with the facilitator for a 60-minute learning session which will be an exploration of The Curious Case of Little Hans.
Session description
“Little Hans was just five years old when he developed an intense fear of horses.
His parents consulted with Sigmund Freud, who later published a study of Hans’ phobia, claiming that it supported his controversial theory of the Oedipus complex.
This session will bring Freud’s case study to life. Guided by a subject expert, participants will examine the case material and Freud’s interpretation of it.
In this session:
- Who was the real Little Hans?
- What was going on in Hans’ life when he developed his phobia?
- What was he saying and doing that interested Freud?
- What were Freud’s key claims?”
As the session comes to an end we will reconvene for a checkout and goodbye. A CPD certificate will be provided.

Entry to the museum. - Independent viewing of the museum (however we can break into smaller groups for those not wishing to explore solo).
- Private learning session: The Curious Case of Little Hans.
The total visit duration, including the session, is approximately 2.5 hours.
2.5 hour CPD certificate will be provided after the event.
