£200
The Nautilus Rooms, 35A Fore Street, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5HN

This is a two-day course designed to introduce you to the power of sandplay therapy, introduce you to the theory and help set you up in practice. The course is highly experiential. It is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn about sandplay and think about how they might apply it to the environment in which they work.

If you have had a brief introduction to sandplay on your basic counselling course, these two days will enhance your learning and knowledge. It is particularly aimed at students, counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and well-being or mental health practitioners working in education, social services and other settings. The programme includes:

  • A series of experiential sand trays.
  • The basic principles of Jungian sandplay as developed by Dora Kalff.
  • How to apply sandplay therapy in the setting where you work.
  • Discussions which link theory and practice.
  • An introduction to the world of symbols.
  • Safe and ethical practice.
  • Creative visualisations and mindfulness practices to support the                    development of the creative imagination.
  • Accreditation by the Association of Integrative Sandplay Therapists.

The courses are located in Totnes, a beautiful part of Devon. It's a wonderful town to visit with the River Dart running through it, quirky shops which provide a delight to the devoted sandplay symbol collector. Close to beach and moor if you are looking to combine a course with a break.
