Foundation course in emotional therapeutic counselling
The foundation for emotional therapeutic counselling is running its foundation level course - a 10 day course which takes place one weekend per month over a five month period beginning in March 2018. The dates are 24/25 March, 28/29 April, 26/27 May, 23/24 June, 21/22 July.
The aim of the course is to introduce the theory and practice of emotional therapeutic counselling and the tools and techniques used. It involves lectures, workshops and discussion and students can expect to work individually, in pairs and groups of differing sizes.
The course is appropriate for personal development but on successful completion students who wish to train as counsellors may be invited on to the diploma course.
The course covers:
- Communication and listening skills
- Resistance and reluctance
- Blocks to disclosure
- Guilt and shame
- Addictive behaviour
- The therapeutic relationship
- Validation of emotional experience
- Healing the inner child
- Hurt and loss
- Visualisation and imagery.
