The perfect way to destress and to connect deeply to self and nature.

Forest bathing is a relaxing and restorative practice which combines mindful awareness, meditation and nature-therapy.

Sessions run regularly in this magical Queen's Wood (www.natureasnurture.com/forest-bathing) but to celebrate 'Forest Bathing Day' this is an extended session (for no extra cost) and includes a gift to take home to support your ongoing connection with nature.

I will guide you through a series of ‘invitations’ - carefully crafted exercises designed to help still your mind, heighten your senses and deepen your connection to the surrounding environment. Having found that soothing place, you’ll be invited to bathe in the overall serenity of the woods and to take a closer look at the finer details of nature around you. Calm, grounded and connected is the end result of a Forest Bathing session.

Apart from my guidance, most of the session takes place in silence. It’s an individual practice, enhanced by sharing the space with others. There is an opportunity over a cup of herbal tea to discuss our experiences towards the end of the session.

Forest bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) has its origins in Japan. The powerful results of significant research in Japan impressed the government with Shinrin-Yoku’s ability to reduce stress and improve health so much that they made Forest bathing is central to preventative health care and is established in 64 ‘healing forests.’ Studies show that a two-hour session significantly:

  • Reduces stress levels.
  • Lowers heart rate.
  • Lowers cortisol levels.
  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Reduces depression.
  • Enhance well-being.
  • Increase empathy.
  • Increase creative thinking.

“My body felt amazing as if it was radiating with a calm energy. The next day I was full of inspiration and I felt like an internal blocking disappeared.”

“I so enjoyed walking through such wild and enchanting woods in the middle of London... Everything slowed down and I reconnected with parts of myself that everyday stresses had pushed away for far too long. A massage for the senses, a massage for the soul...”

“Claire’s gentle, calm and holding guidance allowed me to feel safe enough to explore parts of my inner landscape in a very direct and powerful way.”
