Free two-hour CPD family mediation.

I have been a counsellor for over 20 years and qualified as a family mediator two years ago.

There are a lot of misconceptions about mediation and how it can help. When I share with people I meet personally that I am a ‘family mediator’ this is followed by ‘What is a family mediator?’

Before training, I had little knowledge of mediation. Mediation was being talked about more and more in my client sessions, with individuals and couples. This intrigued me and I looked into family mediation and then went on to train as a family mediator. I have found it incredibly helpful in my therapeutic work with clients. Understanding the emotional and practical side of mediation, has been invaluable in supporting my therapeutic clients. My roles are defined and do not overlap, my training and understanding of both helps support me as a therapist and mediator.

I am keen to share with other counsellors/supervisors information about family mediation. Counselling can be an isolating role, I thought it would be good for us to meet face to face (with coffee and cake of course) in a location around Maidstone/Tonbridge and for myself and my colleague Louisa to share more information about family mediation.

If you have other colleagues who would like to join, they are more than welcome.

I wrote a blog sometime ago about the difference and similarities between mediation and therapy.

It would be lovely to have more counsellors come and join. If you are interested please do email me or 07796951622
