Exploring emotional abuse
Obviously, those around us are human, and may do and say hurtful things every so often. Emotional abuse is different; it is a consistent pattern of behaviour, seen throughout the relationship. It can be understood as instrumental (which is not necessarily the same as conscious); as an attempt to gain and maintain a position of power or invulnerability in the relationship.
This workshop will explore some of the tactics of emotional abuse, in the understanding that knowing what is happening to you is often an important part of dealing with it.
