Eating disorders are among the most complex and misunderstood mental health conditions, yet they touch the lives of millions. Whether you work in therapy, healthcare, education, or mental health support, understanding eating disorders is crucial to providing compassionate and effective care. This engaging, fast-paced workshop will equip you with the essential knowledge to understand the struggles those affected face.

Led by Kel O’Neill, an experienced therapist, trainer, and eating disorder specialist, this session combines professional expertise with lived experience to deliver a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. Expect a thought-provoking, interactive session packed with valuable knowledge and practical takeaways.

  • Recognising the signs - identifying indicators inside and outside of therapy
  • The bigger picture - understanding demand, need, and the scale of the issue
  • The ‘why’ behind eds - exploring contributing factors and complexities
  • Risk and challenges - key considerations for medical needs, safety, and support
  • The recovery journey - what recovery can look like and the barriers along the way
  • Lived experience matters - insights from lived experience
  • Ways to offer support - supportive approaches and considerations

An intensive learning experience

This workshop is essential, in-depth, and fast-moving - designed to give you key insights in a single day. It’s a lot to take in, but it’s delivered in a way that is engaging, accessible, and packed with value!

Small group, high engagement

Although this is an online event, we keep participant numbers small - the same as our in-person workshops - so that everyone can be actively involved. Spaces are limited to ensure meaningful discussion and engagement.

Choosing the right format for you

We know that different schedules and learning styles call for different formats. This event is our one-day intensive session, designed to immerse you fully in the topic and provide a deep dive into essential knowledge in a single day.

We also offer the same training split across four shorter sessions. Check out our other listings to find the format that works best for you!
