Embracing the in-between is a unique, therapeutic space designed for mixed-race women to connect, reflect, and celebrate the layers of their identities. This 5-hour workshop is dedicated to exploring personal experiences and encouraging integration through guided therapeutic and creative exercises, sharing, and reflection. Together, we’ll delve into themes of cultural roots, generational patterns, and self-compassion, allowing participants to jointly gain a deeper understanding of themselves.

Throughout the day, attendees will participate in therapeutic activities specifically curated to help embrace the “in-between” spaces of their heritage. From creating timelines of meaningful moments to writing letters to their younger selves, participants will leave with a renewed understanding of the self and a greater connection to their mixed identity.

What will you gain by attending?

  • A deeper understanding of your identity: Through guided exercises, you will explore your individual mixed experience, allowing you to deepen your self-awareness through a therapeutic lens.
  • Connection and shared experience: A connected space to lean into other mixed women, share stories, and feel validated by those who truly understand the nuances of your experiences.
  • Tools for self-compassion and confidence: Practical exercises to foster self-compassion, build inner resilience, and confidently embrace and integrate your multifaceted identity.

Who is this workshop for?

  • Mixed-race women (adults) seeking a space to therapeutically explore their mixed experience and identity with others who understand.

About me - Danielle Bottone, Integrative therapist

As a mixed black therapist with over six years of experience in private practice, I’ve had the privilege of working extensively with mixed clients, helping them navigate the multifaceted nature of identity, belonging, and cultural dynamics. My personal background as a mixed woman deeply informs my therapeutic approach, allowing me to create a safe, inclusive space where clients feel seen and understood.

In addition to my private practice, I have nearly a decade of experience working in diverse communities within the public sector, gaining valuable insight into the intersections of race, identity, and mental health. I also founded a therapy group in 2021, 'Growing Up Mixed', specifically for mixed-race women to process and explore their unique experiences, further deepening my commitment to empowering the community.

This workshop is a culmination of my therapeutic work with mixed women to date. I am overjoyed to bring the workshop to life and facilitate it in person for the first time!

Join us for a day of introspection, creativity, healing, and community, and take steps toward embracing all parts of who you are.

Spaces are limited to preserve the intimacy of the workshop, register via Eventbrite.
