Domestic violence amongst survivors and victims
CPD event for counsellors - promoting domestic violence awareness among victims/survivors.
The purpose of this event is to equip counsellors to work effectively with victims and survivors of domestic abuse and violence. With the use of materials from the ‘passion for change’ domestic violence awareness course, which has been used successfully at Voice for Change for many years.
If you are looking for an understanding to inform your own work with victims or survivors, or if you are likely to refer or signpost persons affected by domestic violence to Voice for Change, this course will be relevant to you as one in four women and one in seven men are affected by domestic abuse in their lifetime.
The event will be led by Pauline Pendleton, founder and manager of Voice for Change, a domestic abuse service that has been operating for 23 years. The course will count as four hours CPD training.
