The session will present the symptoms and more common aspects of this condition with practical applications of counselling skills. Discussion of what issues to be aware of and how to identify and how to address related issues within counselling sessions.

The areas of discussion will include what is the definition of self-harming behaviour, what are the symptoms to look for and how can counselling skills be applied among other factors.

Teaching will be provided via powerpoint presentation and group interaction.

The co-trainers have over 30 years experience between them, working with a wide range of individuals with mental health difficulties. This training is aimed at counsellors, newly qualified counsellors and student counsellors. Lisa Baldwin is a counsellor and supervisor and Steve Baldwin is a registered mental health nurse.
