Counselling children and young people - foundation certificate 30 hours CPD
The aims of the course are:
- To understand the differences between counselling adults and counselling children and young people.
- To understand the legal and ethical requirements for working with children and young people.
- To develop a theoretical understanding for working with children and young people.
- To develop and practise skills and techniques for counselling children and young people.
This complete course helps counsellors to feel more confident working with children, teaches skills and techniques and is suitable for those considering or already working in a school environment.
A 30-hour course run over the following dates:
- Saturday 15th September.
- Saturday 22nd September.
- Saturday 29th September.
- Sunday 14th October.
- Sunday 21st October.

Liz Jarman has 12 years experience of working in private practice, 7 years experience working as a pastoral care manager/counsellor in a special needs school for children with emotional & behavioural difficulties and worked as a volunteer counsellor at an NHS mental health unit for 5 years. Liz also teaches the 'Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling'.
