Coercive control legislation currently exists in England, Wales, and Scotland, but this does not mean it is not present in Northern Ireland. Supporting victims or friends and families who experience coercive control is a critical skill for counsellors.
Coercive control is different from the categories of domestic abuse many counsellors have been trained in.
This event will help you understand the question "what is coercive control?", and how it impacts victims' families and friends who can see the control but often feel powerless to help.
This type of abuse does not necessarily involve physical violence but always involves control.
This event is limited to 10 attendees, and a waiting list will be held. Places are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration is online using - www.beeyoucounselling.me/events
This training event will count as three hours towards your CPD. A certificate will be sent out after your attendance at the course.
