Certificate in working with groups
Develop your skills and understanding in group facilitation and training with this online, dynamic six-day course. Taking place over three months, Bev Gibbons, our trainer, has developed a course with plenty of space for play, experiential learning and group process.
- Part-time course taking place on three weekends over three months.
- We train in small groups, ensuring all attendees have space to fully participate.
- Takes place online via Zoom - there is no restriction on location - join us from wherever you are.
Course information:
The programme consists of three modules (one per weekend) that integrate theory with experiential learning, group discussions, reflective activities and hands-on opportunities to practice group facilitation.
The certificate course has been developed to actively support professionals in the helping fields; therapists, practitioners, coaches, mental health workers, HR managers, etc., who currently facilitate or are interested in facilitating groups, from organisation teams to therapeutic settings.
Dates:
Training starts at 10.00 am UK time and finishes at 5.00 pm UK time. The dates for the course are:
- Module 1: 20th and 21st September 2025
- Module 2: 11th and 12th October 2025
- Module 3: 1st and 2nd November 2025
Learning outcomes:
You will receive a certificate in working with groups qualification and a certificate for 36 hours of CPD.
By the end of the course, you will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of group processes: Explore group dynamics, unconscious processes, norms, roles, and their impact on group work.
- Be confident applying theory to practice: Learn to integrate various groupwork theories and leadership tasks into your specific settings and at different stages of group development.
- Enhance your facilitation and leadership skills: Use a range of approaches to effectively lead and manage groups, balancing individuation, autonomy, and interdependence.
- Be equipped to critically evaluate group types and processes: Assess different group formats, their clinical implications, and systemic considerations for effective facilitation.
