This 10-day (one weekend per month) training will cover the characteristics of group work: tasks, facilitator styles, models, interventions, dynamics and processes, boundaries and inherent difficulties.

This course is open to qualified counsellors and psychotherapists and is certified by the CPD Certification Services.

Entry requirements:

  • Participants will need to have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience and be currently working as a counsellor or psychotherapist.
  • Hold a minimum of a Diploma level in counselling or psychotherapy qualification, or equivalent.
  • Because of the experiential nature of this training, the course requires you to be willing to take part in skills practice – either as a facilitator or as a group member – discussions and to use your own experience as material to learn from. Self-reflective skills will be needed in order to look at the self in relation to groups. This includes the requirement to express yourself clearly, fluently and accurately.

Dates (weekends):

  • 24th and 25th February 2024
  • 30th and 31st March 2024
  • 27th and 28th April 2024
  • 25th and 26th May 2024
  • 29th and 30th June 2024
