Qualified and trainee psychotherapeutic counsellors and mental health practitioners who are increasingly delivering short-term counselling and brief interventions (1-6 sessions).

About the course:
Increasingly, we are providing short-term and brief therapy for clients. We explore the development, key features and differences of three main models: brief solution-focused therapy, single session and one session at a time (OAAT) models and how to integrate these principles into your work. How to manage risk, safeguarding and client expectations to deliver effective counselling within 1-6 sessions, or less, even with more complex presentations.

Limited numbers:
This will be a small interactive course; numbers will be limited to max 12 to ensure time for interaction, questions, small group work in threes and fours and progressive integration of learning. Learning takes place by interacting, discussing, and engaging with materials.

TUTOR BIO: Melanie is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, Tutor /Trainer & Supervisor who has delivered and supervises brief therapy interventions (NHS, Surrey University, Charitable Organisations & Private Practitioners). She has her own private practice in Surrey.
