About the course:

The course equips supervisors with a range of creative approaches to deepen reflective practice, enhance problem-solving and foster insight in supervision. It enables supervisors to engage supervisees in fresh, dynamic ways, to break through the stuck points and explore issues from new perspectives. Creative techniques are highly transferable, allowing supervisors to bring or breathe new life into creative work with their own clients. The day/course includes experiential exercises, slides presentation and case study discussions to consolidate learning.

• Definitions and benefits of working creatively in supervision.
• Types of creative approaches:
  • People and props
  • Media, books, poems, lyrics
  • Metaphor, symbols, imagery
  • Drawing/s
  • Brainstorms, writing and words
  • Somatic
  • Audio (incl. IPR)
  • Dreams
• Link with reflective supervisory practice
• Skills required – dealing with ruptures, difficulties, and misunderstandings.
• Time keeping and creative working tips.

The award:

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate in Creative Techniques in Supervision via email.
