An introduction to the four main archetypes within the human experience of emotions and how you could work with them.

Exploring the core archetypes through a therapeutic lens.

The Sovereign, Magician, Warrior, and Lover:

Some say there are as many as 325 archetypes (thanks, Scott Jeffrey), which can feel daunting to navigate. But most of them fall under four foundational energies: the Sovereign, Magician, Warrior, and Lover.

Carl Jung, who first brought the concept of archetypes into modern psychology, named 12 primary ones – including the Sage, Innocent, Explorer, and Creator – all of which can be traced back to these four core patterns. In this webinar, we’ll explore how these archetypes show up in ourselves and our clients, and how we can work with them in therapeutic settings.

In this workshop, you’ll:

  • Learn the key functions and qualities of the Sovereign, Magician, Warrior, and Lover archetypes.
  • Explore how each archetype might present in an imbalanced form – in clients and in ourselves.
  • Discover how to restore and support healthy, integrated expressions of each energy.
  • Learn how to track movement between archetypes during sessions – most therapeutic work begins in the Magician (story, insight, and context) and shifts from there.
  • Participate in guided experiential exercises (optional and responsive to group interest).
  • CPD certificate available on request.
  • Please bring paper and pens.
  • Note: This session will not be recorded to maintain confidentiality.

Some anonymous (unedited) feedback from January 2025 on Depression. (Via Happiful):

Best lecture I’ve ever been to as a therapist in 20 years. Thank you so much!!

I want to say, I thought this webinar was brilliant. Really practical. Stefan was very engaging. I have attended so many webinars in the past 2 to 3 years that have been a total waste of time. I absolutely loved this and will be able to use a lot of the information in my practice as I like to use a lot of metaphors and regression techniques. Please have Stefan back to deliver more webinars. Thank you once again.

Wonderful experience and well worth spending the time tuning in. Very effective metaphors to explain complex concepts in easy language. Theory of client emotional presentation and practical tools described for practitioners, very informative and the CPD session ensured intent and impact. Will definitely be dialling in to Stefan again!!! A***

This was the best 1 hour webinar I’ve ever attended. Informative and Practical from the beginning, I found it so valuable and am keen to see more of the speaker’s presentations. Thank you! So many webinars are full of preamble and introduction which are a waste of time.

Some feedback from last May's "chair work"

I thought it was one of the best short learning events I have attended in the past year. I liked the way you stayed focused on the subject, framing it with the four emotions. I found the concept of two chair work without two chairs immensely helpful. I have tried two chair work occasionally, with some success I think, but using two chairs felt awkward. I can now use the concept without that awkwardness, and online, and I believe that will make it easier for the client to get into it. I also particularly liked the advice to listen not only to what the client is saying, but also to what is missing from what they are saying. I think I do that anyway, but being reminded of its importance with that simple phrase was very helpful.

So, a really valuable event and I shall certainly use learning from it in my client work. I shall see you again at future events.

P.D. from May 2024.
