Animal assisted therapy in counselling - Summer intensive 2020

This exciting new in-depth course looks at incorporating Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) into your practice. We will explore amongst other things:
- The history of AAT.
- Key figures in its development.
- Learn about dog body language and behaviour.
- Discuss animal welfare - working with them in therapy.
- Learn about the theory behind the approach.
- Learn AAT techniques for different client groups.
The course will be spread over three consecutive days and will be structured to look at AAT in counselling with considerations for the client, practitioner and therapy animal.
Day one - 13/07/2020
Day Two - 14/07/2020
Day Three - 15/07/2020
Please note: You will need to complete all three days in order to receive certification.
You will get the opportunity to learn the key theory, interact with potential therapy animals, engage in group activities exploring the benefits of incorporating interaction with animals into well-being development and consider the implications of developing such a niche in your practice.
