An introduction to understanding eating disorders
The Longbarrow Barn, The Rudolph Steiner School
Eating disorders present specific challenges in the therapeutic context, whether working with young people or adults. This practical and interactive workshop will cover:
- The nature and scope of eating disorders.
- Treatment pathways and the reasons for them.
- How and when we can appropriately work with eating disorders.
- How the client may present and how to safely meet their needs.
The overarching aim of the event is to raise awareness of a complex issue so that counsellors can meet it equipped with understanding and the knowledge to support clients in the best way to meet their needs, either in private practice or on placement.
