An introduction to rational emotive behaviour therapy
In this workshop, Professor Windy Dryden will introduce the basic theory and practice of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. During the training he will highlight some of the pitfalls of its practice and how these can be avoided or negotiated. Professor Dryden will explore common misconceptions of REBT and demonstrate how this model can be applied in client work.
Delegates will need to come prepared with an example of an emotional or behavioural issue they, or a client has encountered and be prepared to volunteer in Professor Dryden's demonstration of using REBT practically in the clinical setting. This demonstration will be held in front of the training group.
In bringing a personal issue the day is likely to be emotive and therefore we would ask that delegates consider this prior to booking as this will not be a therapeutic session.
Windy Dryden is Emeritus Professor of Psychotherapeutic Studies at Goldsmiths University of London, and is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
