Advanced specialist diploma in counselling supervision (L6 Equivalent)

Online and in-person hybrid - accredited by the NCPS.

Starting September 2025, this 6-month course equips qualified therapists with skills, knowledge, and confidence to establish themselves as supervisors in both in-person and remote settings. Delivered through 10 live interactive online modules and consolidated with a two-day in-person professional development weekend in Guildford, Surrey, the course offers a blend of practical supervision techniques, ethical dilemma problem-solving skills, psychological theory, and reflective practice. Completion confers eligibility to join the NCPS Accredited Register of Supervisors. Small cohorts (typically 9-12) ensure robust, tailored guidance and support throughout.

Includes in-depth exploration of ethical dilemmas, developmental supervision stages, EDI in supervision, several supervision models (for online and in-person supervision), and much more. Mapped to BACP core supervision competencies and including relevant psychological concepts to put everything into context, with each module building on the last. Delegates engage in interactive learning, case discussions, and triad skills practice with individual feedback.

The assignment is by case study, process report, and reflective practice presentation. Module recordings, handouts, practice guides, and assignment tutorials included.

Flexible payment options are available, and the course is led by an experienced chartered counselling psychologist and qualified tutor with 17+ years of practice, with an additional tutor for the development weekend.

Tutors: 1-2 (always 2 at the prof development weekend)

Eligibility: For practitioners with a L4 qualification or above, a minimum of 450 client hours, three years of practice, and membership in a professional body such as BACP / NCPS.
