Why study this course?
This is an excellent course if you keen to move into couples work and want the opportunity to study with a highly experienced and well regarded trainer. By the end of the course you should have a clear sense of whether couple work is for you, an understanding of what couple work involves and the different approaches to it and you will have begun to develop couples counselling skills.
What will it cover?
There will be input on different approaches to couple work, on how to work with sexual problems and on additional ethical issues that need to be considered when working with couples. It is also a highly practical course, with trainer demonstrations and role-plays designed to develop couple work skills.
Who is this course for?
This course is for trained counsellors who are considering extending their practice to work with couples. It provides an overview of couple work, examining the main differences between individual and couple counselling and the extra skills needed to work effectively with couples.

Marian Gillett, Dip. Psychotherapy, UKCP reg. is a UKCP registered psychotherapist. Marian is Relate-trained with many years’ experience of couples' work. She has taught on the GCS Certificate in Counselling Skills course and has run courses for Relate and numerous other organisations. Marian has worked as a psychotherapist for 18 years.
