10-day working with children and young people conversion course
Are you an adult counsellor or psychotherapist and considering working therapeutically with children and young people?
Top up your skills with this 10-day conversion course. Written to bridge the gap between BACP Adult SETs (Standards of Education in Training) and Children SETs, we are pleased to launch our second programme, commencing October 2021.
This is a 10-day programme of blended learning (nine online days and one practical face to face day - choice of venues). The programme runs for two days - on a Friday and Monday - spanning a weekend, bi-monthy.
- attachment and development theory - general and advanced
- protection and safeguarding
- therapeutic interventions - theory and practice
- contracting and treatment planning
Core requirements: 50 hours adult client work post-qualification, placements to attain 50 hours of child/young people contact time, specialist child supervision (this can be provided in addition to the programme).
Academic requirements: two essays/presentation, two workbooks, re safeguarding and play therapy interventions, case study, 20 hours recourse study.
Academic provision: two experienced psychotherapists/supervisors/trainers. Online, provision of pre-course materials.
