About me

I am a chartered clinical psychologist who is dedicated to providing support to children, teenagers, and adults of all ages. I appreciate that opening up about one’s difficulties can be daunting. As such, it is my priority to create a safe, compassionate and confidential space in which you can explore a wide range of issues. These include the following: feeling sad, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, eating disorders, self-harm, relationship issues, trauma and difficult life experiences (e.g. divorce, bereavement, neglect, abuse), as well as other profound struggles, such as psychosis, personality disorders and identity struggles.

I am trained to use a number of different psychological skills in order to match these to your individual circumstances. Depending on what you wish to address, I can offer short-term therapy (e.g. if you wish to focus on a specific issue that you think is getting in the way) as well as long-term therapy (e.g. if you found short-term therapy of little benefit; if you wish to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and transform your life, or if you feel your concerns are more complex).

I use a number of exciting and efficient clinical therapeutic methods, including short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP), mentalisation based therapy (MBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) and nonviolent resistance therapy (NVR).

Training, qualifications & experience

Occupation: Chartered Clinical Psychologist

Qualifications and training: BSc (Hons), DClinPsych, CPsychol

Professional registrations: Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), British Psychological Society (BPS)

Experience:

NHS: For the past ten years, I have predominantly worked in the NHS, providing assessments and psychological interventions to children, teenagers adults and older adults, presenting with varying degrees of difficulties and distress. Currently, I work in the NHS where I offer assessments and therapeutic interventions to teenagers who find themselves in a state of crisis and are at risk of inpatient admission.

Private practice:

Face to face: Most of my private work takes place in a comfortable, quiet, and confidential therapeutic room in the Therapies centre (90 Limpsfield Road, Sanderstead, South Croydon, Surrey, CR2 9EE).

Where appropriate, I might be able to provide an alternative meeting place (e.g. home visit).

Online Therapy: I readily offer online therapy sessions for many clients who cannot make direct sessions or who live beyond the local area. Online sessions are a safe place to connect and most patients find it beneficial to them

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
