About me

I work using a Person Centred Approach and a blend of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology and Mindfulness. My Masters degree training and work experience enables me to practice as a integrative counsellor utilising a range of therapeutic approaches depending on your needs and goals.

This means that together we will explore your understanding and concerns, I will use a range of counselling skills through this process as we collaboratively explore and practice effective strategies that will help you to reach your therapeutic goals. I have specialist knowledge, training and experience in a range of life issues and mental health difficulties, including  addictions and eating disorders.

I offer consultations for individuals who want to explore, and improve their ability to manage emotion effectively, wish to enhance their relationship skills, and develop healthy and effective coping mechanisms whilst letting go of thinking/behaviour patterns that are having a detrimental effect in their lives.

I am always engaged in professional development, I love staying up to date with current research and thinking in the field.

Apart from private practice I currently work with Circles South East where I provide counselling for clients with severe and enduring mental health difficulties as the result of sexual abuse, sex addiction, and other psycho-sexual issues. I also write online resources on the topics of psychology, positive psychology, mental health, addictions, and addictions recovery.

For the last 14 years I have worked in various helping roles with a wide section of the community for drug and alcohol services, homelessness services, and mental health services, in both the public and private sectors.

I work at a number of locations in Oxford, including  East Oxford and Oxford City Centre, each site has different rental arrangements.

I am delighted to be able to offer affordable counselling in East Oxford due to the generous support of the Cowley St John community, who share my vision of affordable counselling for those that would like it, and have provided low cost room rental on Charles Street, sessions are therefore priced at £20.00 for 50 minutes.
