About me

Hi,

There are many reasons why people find themselves seeking therapy, whether that be anxiety, grief, relationship problems, an ongoing battle with previous trauma or anything in between. I am here to listen to you without judgement. I have three years counselling experience and have worked with people from all walks of life, including within a local college and local mental health charity. I have provided counselling for people as young as 14, right up to the age of 80. I pride myself on being approachable and friendly, but this doesn't mean I won't challenge your thinking or tell you exactly what you want to hear. I like to provide an atmosphere where people can be themselves and previous clients often comment how much of a "normal" person I am. I am trained as an integrative therapist which means I am able to combine a range of therapies both safely and effectively. Sessions are very much client led, which means you can gain whatever you want from your counselling experience, but don't worry if you don't know where to start as I can help you open up using a range of activities, tools and techniques.

Face to face sessions are held in a quiet, private office located on the outskirts of Scunthorpe. I also work online using Google Meet, WhatsApp or Microsoft Teams. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. It can be difficult to reach out so I do endeavour to get back to prospective clients within 24 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
