About me

Life can throw lots of different things in our direction. Sometimes these unexpected curveballs can help make our lives fulfilling, exciting and varied, but other times they can be difficult to navigate...causing us pain and we can feel unable to cope.

Perhaps life has just thrown something big your way that you are struggling with, or maybe you've noticed that things haven't been right for a little while and you would like to do something about it...but are unsure what?

Sometimes, in these moments we need a safe space to explore these difficulties - to unpack them and be curious in understanding them. I myself found that safe space in counselling many years ago.  Although opening up and allowing myself to be vulnerable was scary at first, over time I allowed myself to lean in, to trust the process and found a valuable and profound experience.

This ultimately led to my own training to become a BACP registered counsellor.

I am an integrative counsellor, drawing on lots of different ways of working, but mainly following a Person-Centred, humanistic approach. This means that I work in a client-led way, with curiosity in getting to know the real you. Counselling sessions are yours to bring and discuss whatever is on your mind, and I won't try and fit you into a theoretical framework, instead I will offer space and guidance for self-reflection and connection with your most authentic self.

I work with clients face to face from my comfortable, calming, plant-filled therapy room in Bath, online or our in the glorious countryside surrounding Bath for Walk & Talk sessions.

When not seeing clients at my home therapy room, I work with a local charity offering trauma-informed therapy.

Do pop over to my website if you would like to know more about me, my training and experience, or feel free to get in touch if you would like to arrange an initial chat to see how we might work together.

Take care,

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
