About me

Welcome. I imagine that you might have read through quite a few different profiles in your search for support before arriving here. I've been where you are and I know how overwhelming it can be sifting through lots of different profiles to find right "fit" for your needs.

I'm a BACP registered, trauma-informed, Therapeutic Counsellor and I work with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, self-esteem.

I thought it might be most helpful to share with you what working with me might look like...

I like to describe it like going for a walk.

Shall I come on a walk with you?

Where would you like to go? You get to choose the route, and I'll follow. You know the paths of your life better than I do, but I'd love to explore and get to know them with you. Have you got what you need before we begin...a glass of water, a hot drink, a cosy blanket? Shall we take a moment to breathe, to stretch, to feel present?

Perhaps you already know what you would like to talk about. Or maybe you are unsure where you would like to go? Not a problem. Let's start out on a gentle stroll around your life and see if a route emerges. We can stop to explore and savour the surroundings if you like. Perhaps we might notice new things...patterns and life landmarks that might have been missed or seen differently when you've previously taken this route alone. How does it feel to revisit this route? Can we check in with your body...noticing any sensations or messages its trying to communicate?

Seeing things in a new way can be insightful and healing, but can sometimes also be challenging and painful. Whatever you need or whatever you discover, I'm here walking with you side by side. You are not alone.

As we come to the end of our time together, what do you need before you head out back into your day? Perhaps something grounding, some deep breaths, another stretch? Maybe we'll return to same the route in our next session, or perhaps you'd like to go somewhere different...you decide.

I work integratively, which means I draw on lots of different ways of working, but my core way of working follows a Person-Centred, relational approach. This essentially means that counselling sessions are yours to talk about whatever is on your mind. I won't try and fit you into a theoretical framework, instead I will help you navigate and work your way through problems by offering space and guidance for self-reflection and connection. We can also draw on other approaches; such using some more creative techniques, as well as connecting with the body and nervous system, but only if you would like to.

I offer sessions from my plant-filled, cosy therapy room in Bear Flat, online or "Walk and Talk" sessions outdoors in nature.

Do feel free to get in touch if you would like to arrange an initial chat to see how we might work together. You can also find me on instagram @zoefeldwick_therapy.

Take care and I look forward to speaking to you if you do choose to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
