About me

Hello, I'm Zephyr,

Your first steps to reaching out for support can feel daunting and scary. It takes courage to sit with the tension of your struggles and the uncertainty around what might unfold if you begin exploring them. Counselling offers the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of your inner world and how that manifests externally. By providing a confidential, non-judgemental space and considering the past, present and future together, counselling can allow you to move forward with more clarity and approach life more authentically.

My warm approach encourages collaboration and hopes to offer an empathic and therapeutic space that in time allows you to feel safe enough to share the story of your life. It is normal to experience apprehension in the beginning and yet we have an inherent drive to wholeness and that can arise organically in the right supportive environment where you feel held and able to express yourself fully.

I am a Psychosynthesis Counsellor registered with BACP. I work both short term over 6 sessions and long term in-depth with adults. My open-hearted approach encourages collaboration. Together with curiosity we can explore and gain deeper understanding of your struggles and patterns and also begin to access the wisdom to meet life more authentically and compassionately and to make different choices.

What is Psychosynthesis?

Psychosynthesis holds the vision that we are all unique souls on a journey seeking to embrace our fullest potential. By embracing our challenges and considering their roots we may also be gifted insights and self knowledge on the path to greater wholeness and purpose. As a Psychosynthesis counsellor my approach is Integrative and Transpersonal and draws on a number of psychotherapeutic models in service of each persons uniqueness.

About me

I volunteered for a number of years with Maytree Respite Centre and have experience working with Suicide, Self-Harm and what brings meaning to life. With a 20 year background in Yoga and Meditation, I may also incorporate work with the body, breath and mindfulness into our sessions if relevant to your process. My whole-hearted approach hopes to provide an integration of therapeutic practices and wisdom from both eastern and western perspectives and may encourage daily rituals that offer solace in difficult times. Counselling offers space to explore what is troubling you and broaden your perspective on what choices you might take moving forward. Offering the chance to know oneself more intimately, this work can be both painful and challenging as well as comforting and exhilarating.

I support diversity and welcome people from all backgrounds.

Next steps:-

Contact me via email to organise a free 20 min phone call or Zoom session (please include your preferred location - Truro or Falmouth). This is an opportunity for us to make contact and begin to discuss the process and what brings you to counselling at this time. If it feels like we are a good fit we can then decide to work together for a six session contract or a longer more open ended contract.

Sessions are then scheduled weekly and last for 60 mins. I offer in person sessions at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre, Treliske, Truro on Thursday afternoon/evenings and at The Wellness Hub in Falmouth on Tuesday afternoon/evenings and Wednesday afternoon/evenings. I also see clients through The Well Being Hive in Truro and offer online sessions via Zoom.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
