I am Zahra, a trained psychotherapeutic Counsellor.
So if you have feelings such as low mood, anxiety, numbness, guilt, regret, or anger? Are you stuck in emotional pain and anxiety or looking for ways to cope with grief or loss with sudden changes that make your life unmanageable?
Your experience is unique to you. Explore your choices and options. Change your limiting beliefs and conditioned responses so you can respond from an empowered position. Let go of negative thoughts and emotions to move forward.
I work with clients of all ages and ethnicities.
Working with me gives you confidence and hope in making pathways to healing and coping with your losses.
I work collaboratively and compassionately, in person-centred modalities, like talking therapies with other elements to make you understand how your experiences in the past have impacted your relationship with self and others in the present. I am working with grief, anxiety and depression. I also support south Asian languages either face to face or online.
From time to time, current events trigger past unresolved issues; gain a deeper understanding of your current situation. Identify and analyse the patterns and triggers for your usual thoughts, emotions and behaviours connected to them to express and release your feelings safely. Reconnect to your unique qualities, strengths, choices and options.
Suppose you have no control over what is happening around you, can't get to grips with meditation, or understand how to use mindfulness. Maybe what you're doing to look after your mind right now isn't working. Perhaps you're finding that. It's hard to prioritise self-care - The "usual" things don't work for you. - You try something new for a couple of weeks but don't stick to it
Science tells us that one size doesn't fit all regarding your mental well-being. It would help if you had a routine that's personal to you and your lifestyle. One that will grow and change as you do.
Start discovering your routine today.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatising labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioural, humanistic and psychodynamic therapy. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and take the first steps towards change. I am here to support and empower you if you are ready to take that step.
I look forward to working with you!

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
