Yvonne Whitehurst MBACP, Dip Counselling, DiP (N), SRN
I am a qualified Intergrative counsellor offering a non-judgemental, safe and private environment for you to explore your emotions and difficulties.
My nursing background has given me extensive experience working with individuals who have lived with multiple issues including bereavement, chronic and terminal illnesses. I have been able to help many people with problems that have had an impact on theirs and their families lives. This can be either work related stress or personal issues.
I will support you through this difficult time and have been trained in numerous flexible approaches which enables me to identify and help you to find solutions to your problems. This will help you to move forward which can sometimes be difficult.
You may want a one off session to prepare for a job interview or more sessions if you are going to need on-going support for more challenging issues.
I have worked as a counsellor in a doctors surgery and many issues were brought to these sessions.
I offer both short and long term therapy. I have also worked in the private sector and have an interest in, and believe that, our bodies let us know when there are times, and areas in our lives that need to change. if we are able to change just a few things this will enable us to enjoy a "balanced" life which we can then enjoy and achieve out goals.
I belong to the professional body - BACP - and abide by their code of practice
I work from a private and confidential therapy room.
I offer short and long term therapy

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
