Yvonne (Vonny) Prout Accanto Counselling Registered MBACP Dip.Coun
Maybe the reason you are here today is because you are experiencing feelings that you would rather not continue to carry alone.
My practice is called ‘Accanto’ and I have built my service around this name, which translated means ‘next to or beside,’ and quite simply that is exactly where I will be for you.
I do have an A-Z of what I cover but actually this is about YOU feeling that you can bring anything you need into the safe and accepting space that I offer.
Being Counselled is not about seeking an immediate solution or chasing a particular goal, it is about YOU feeling better about yourself; learning to love yourself, so that you can embrace love and acceptance from others by being your ‘real’ self.
This is a journey we undertake together with no pressure and at a pace that you set. You know better than anyone else what you seek, what you want, and what you need and my skills mean that I can adjust my practice in a way that suits you best.
Taking the step towards Counselling can come with many mixed feelings and it is important for you to know that my approach is unstuffy, warm and present and I offer compassion, respect and a passion for what I do.
Entering into therapy can literally change your life and perspective which can be both challenging & exciting for you and those around you. You are entirely unique and the counselling process can bring a new and wide ranging awareness of yourself and your interactions with others.

I also specialise in Counselling for Men in the growing recognition that unhelpful and outdated gender stereotyping has been replaced with a new area of strength where men can feel empowered by opening up about their feelings.
Here at Accanto, in an unpressured and compassionate space you can safely explore these feelings, and perhaps come to embrace them knowing that your voice will be heard and your emotions validated.
