About me

Hello! I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and I am here to help you. I am a calm, supportive and caring person, and will take the time to listen to you. I have worked with people from all walks of life and ages; I have extensive experience of working with business owners, parents, carers, children and young people, and families of prisoners. I specialise in helping people with issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, fears and sadness. I am also a qualified teacher with experience of working with young people and adults with SEN, particularly ASD. I am deaf aware and working towards BSL L3.

We can all experience pressures from work, family and daily life at times and this can lead us to feeling overwhelmed and anxious. I am here to listen to you and help you find a solution that is realistic for you. I am passionate about counselling and I respect each person as an individual. I love helping people find solutions that work for them. I have worked with people as young as 7 all the way up to 88!

As well as counselling, I am a qualified hypnotherapist registered with the GHSC and can offer a range of hypnotherapy solutions (including hypnobirthing) if you feel this is something you would benefit from.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

What do I do now?

If you want to book a free initial phone consultation you can contact me by email or telephone. During the initial session we will talk about counselling and you can decide if it is right for you. There is no obligation to continue. If you want to book a second session we can set that up and discuss if you want weekly/fortnightly.

I will respond to all enquiries within 48 hours. If you have not heard from me within that time, please check your junk/spam email.

Where do sessions take place?

I have a therapy room in Shaw, Oldham which has free parking facilities and is close to public transport links.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
