About me

I am a qualified Intergrative counsellor who can offer you a calm, non-judgemental, safe and private environment for you to explore your feelings or difficulties you are experiencing. I will listen and help you explore what is worrying you and work together at your pace and find possibilities for change.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, lost or unsure how to move forward or are experiencing anxiety, depression, problems with relationships, trauma, bereavement or just feelings that you cannot understand and do not know where to begin,  I can offer you support.

My nursing background has given me extensive experience working with individuals who have lived with multiple issues including bereavement, chronic and terminal illnesses.  I have recently worked for Macmillan counselling services within a hospital setting.  I have supported clients that have been through cancer diagnosis and recovered,  those that are receiving on going treatment, loved ones that are living with someone that has been diagnosed and cancer survivors. I have been able to help many people with problems that have had an impact on theirs and their families lives. This can be either work related stress, health or personal issues.

I will support you through this difficult time and have been trained in numerous flexible approaches which enables me to identify and help you to find solutions to your problems. This will help you to move forward which can sometimes be difficult.

You may want a one off session to prepare for a job interview or more sessions if you are going to need on-going support for more challenging issues.

I have worked as a counsellor in a doctors surgery and many issues were brought to these sessions.

I offer both short and long term therapy. I have also worked in the private sector and have an interest in, and believe that, our bodies let us know when there are times, and areas in our lives that need to change. if we are able to change just a few things this will enable us to enjoy a "balanced" life which we can then enjoy and achieve out goals.

I belong to the professional body - BACP - and abide by their code of practice

I work from a private and confidential therapy room.

I offer short and long term therapy

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
