About me

Yvonne Bryant

MBACP (Registered) – Counsellor, BA (Hons) Social Work

Hello and welcome, my name is Yvonne and I am a compassionate, caring counsellor with experience of working with individuals within different voluntary settings and private practice, working with young people as well as the older adult population suffering from both short and long-term multi-dimensional problems and psychological difficulties.

In collaboration, I offer a space to explore some of the problems you may be experiencing and negative patterns that may be having an impact on both your personal and professional life.

I specialise in a range of psychological difficulties including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Family relationship problems
  • Racism
  • Shame
  • Bereavement
  • Self-harm
  • Interpersonal difficulties
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Divorce
  • Sexual Assault
  • Domestic Abuse.

My clinical background is primarily Person Centred and Integrative Counselling. As part of the Integrative approach, I draw on other therapeutic techniques such as Psychodynamic, Brief Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (following the NICE guidelines) and Solution Focused Therapy.

My counselling service is flexible and offers both day and evening counselling sessions from Monday to Saturday in own private setting.

The counselling sessions I offer are personalised to each individual, and are offered in a non-judgmental, safe environment. The length of commitment to counselling is collaboratively negotiated by the client and myself from the onset and reviewed regularly.

I provide a consultation of sixty minutes which can lead to face to face, SKYPE, Zoom or phone sessions of one hour. I currently offer this service for those aged 18 and above.

I receive regular clinical supervision with a BACP registered counsellor. I also have Professional Civil Liability Insurance and am DBS checked (enhanced).

If you have any questions or would like to book your first appointment, please send me an email here.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

A recent testimonial

"I cannot recommend Yvonne highly enough. Her kind, gentle manner and extraordinary empathy have lifted me from a dark place and encouraged me to grow into a much stronger, more resilient and more confident person. No other counsellor has reached me in this way. My family and I will always be immensely grateful to her."
