Community Support

What is Community Support?

We believe at Your Plan that your recovery should not just stop at our clinic so we have a dedicated team of professionals to help you get back into education and work. We also offer services such as graded exposure to help beat anxiety in public.

How does it work?

Again here at Your Plan, we don't just send anybody to support you. We want you as our client to feel comfortable with who you are with and maybe have similar interests. So we sit down and plan exactly what you want and need help within the community so we can support you in the best way we can.

Further information

"Centrality is Key" and "Music kept me alive" is what I discovered in my few years in the inpatient and community services across Derby and Derbyshire. Welcome to Your Plan Wellness & Recovery based in Derby providing bespoke therapy in our state-of-the-art office with space for 1-1 sessions and group work for up to 20 people for example music or drama therapy.

The reason why I have chosen to launch "Your Plan" as the Director of the company is the need for change and improvement and I strongly believe from my personal and work history I am the right person to make a change and help change lives. We learn from people that have been in the depth of services from being detained to receiving therapies in and out of hospitals. That is me! Over the years I have experienced the use of the Mental Health Act, Capacity Act, Restrictive Practice, Therapy Programs, what is out in the community and experienced the many pros and cons of different psychiatric medicine that I believe is not the focus for treatment and recovery.

What we can personally offer to our clients is putting the client at the forefront of every task we need to carry out. We all seem to say that we offer person-centered care. But are we? We dedicate ourselves to make sure we do at all times. We work alongside the client making them happy and comfortable to not create extra pressures and anxiety they simply do not need. In addition to any client, we work with we can offer extensive insight into inpatient and community services as well as recovery options. It's key to give people the chance to talk and express themselves even if it starts with just a general chat and a coffee. Trust builds and things develop.

On a side note, I believe as the company Director we should offer all service users the freedom to expression. What I mean by this is giving everyone the means to express themselves their own way whether it be: talking, writing, poetry, drawing, song-writing, talking over a game or walk, drama, music. We all regulate our emotions and express ourselves differently.

All of our team are DBS checked and follow Data Protection and GDPR policies plus Safeguarding Adults and Children. We follow strict confidentiality with each client, and we explain when planning your recovery why we might have to inform local authorities in an immediate emergency.

What sets us apart from local companies is not to help me as the Director but to help the thousands of people out there struggling each day on their own to get tasks done. I was lucky I had a great support network, not everyone does have one. I don't just want to stop here I want to expand and develop to change the way services work using modern teaching methods around Trauma and bring in a working model designed by the people using the different systems.

To sum up, we need change, suicide rates are climbing and I want to make a difference to care in Derby to save, improve and watch people grow into their desired positive life paths.
