Yasmin Sahebekhtiari MBACP Senior Accredited
About me
Touch Base Therapy Services
I am a BACP registered and senior accredited, attachment-based integrative counsellor/psychotherapist and supervisor.
I have experience of working in the NHS and private sector, offering short and long term therapy to individuals in central London (SE1/Waterloo/Vauxhall/Albert Embankment/Westminster areas).
I work by looking at attachment strategies, developmental stages and patterns of behaviour, helping to connect past experiences to the present, whilst seeking to bring about desired changes.
Goals can be raising self-esteem and awareness, relieving depression, anxiety, panic attacks and traumatic stress, or improving relationships and looking at identity and/or inter-cultural issues, for example.
I provide a safe and confidential space for clients to identify their inner needs, recognise and validate their experiences and manage feelings and emotions. I can also assist with developmental trauma, attachment and family / parenting issues.
I'm experienced in working with trauma and use sensorimotor and attachment focused EMDR in an integrative mode.
Expectations and reasons for wanting to have counselling vary and I am more than happy to answer any questions you might have or to discuss your circumstances and needs. You can email or phone me and I will get back to you.
I am a senior accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and a member of the EMDR Association (UK & Ireland) and follow their respective codes of ethics), which you can learn more about on their websites: www.bacp.co.uk. and www.emdrassociation.co.uk.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
