Yasmin Hussain MBACP Accred/Clinical Supervisor
About me
Hi and welcome to my profile :)
I am a Mental Health Practitioner with over 12 years experience in the NHS- CAMHS, Primary Care, IAPT, charities and private practice, stretching from Cumbria to London.
I support with Anxiety, Anger, Low Mood, Depression, Post Natal Depression, OCD, Bereavement, Relationship issues, Self-harm, Substance Misuse, Stress, Loss, PTSD etc.
I work together with clients, in a confidential setting to explore their difficulties, at their pace, remembering they are the expert on their life. Clients gain insight, awareness of possible options that will help them find solutions. The therapeutic relationship helps offer understanding of self, functioning and brings new insight, creating change and allowing improvement in well-being.
Could this be the right therapist for me?
I am passionate about the work I do and find it very rewarding to see clients gain an improved awareness of self and become better empowered to reach their own solutions.
In order to provide an ethical, professional, effective service, I am committed to continued Personal and Professional development, an accredited member of the BACP and adhere to their code of practice and ethics. In line with all qualified Counsellors, I undertake regular monthly supervision. I have an excellent record of positive outcomes for the clients.
I am a reflective practitioner who evaluates the service I offer, make adjustments when required to offer quality and effective service for clientele.
As humans living in a challenging world, we all face difficulties at some time or other in our life. But when feeling overwhelmed, vulnerable, its difficult to balance your thoughts to reach the solution that's best for you. Finding a non-judgemental, confidential setting where you would feel safe to talk about your difficulties, with an experienced Therapist who works alongside you will help you to make sense of problems you may be experiencing.
The therapy process allows exploration of any issues which may be a barrier/limitation in moving forward. When exploring and coming to terms/acceptance with the issues, the client creates mental capacity to manage things in a more balanced resilient way.By contacting and having a brief conversation with me, you will gain a sense of me as a person and the service.
Telephone consultation is free. (up to 20 mins only)
The 1st session is a chance for us to meet and discover whether we feel that we can work together. We will discuss your situation and whats helpful for you in terms of a plan for further therapy. I will advise you on whether I feel I can offer you what you need. If I feel that I am not able to do this, I will suggest other services that might be able to help you. This might involve suggesting that you speak to your GP if this feels appropriate.
If we both agree to the therapy, I usually suggest 6 sessions followed by a review and extend/close as you wish.
If you cancel less than 48 hours before an appointment, payment is still required. You can pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer. I do not accept credit card payments.
50 min Sessions are weekly as this is often the most effective way to work, however we can discuss this at our 1st meeting.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
